Data Deletion Instructions

IdeaThreader Pro respects your right to control your personal data. This page explains what data we store, how to delete it, and what happens when you request deletion.
What Data Does IdeaThreader Pro Store?
IdeaThreader Pro stores the following types of data:
1. Browser Local Storage (Stored on Your Device)
- Client profiles (brand voice, audience, strategic guidelines)
- User preferences and settings
- Draft content and scheduled posts
- Social media OAuth access tokens
2. Server-Side Storage (Cloudflare Infrastructure)
- Active session data during use
- Usage analytics (anonymized)
- OAuth refresh tokens (encrypted)
3. Third-Party AI Provider Logs
- Prompts sent to AI services (Google Gemini, OpenAI, Anthropic)
- Note: AI providers do not use your data for model training
How to Delete Your Data
Method 1: In-App Deletion (Immediate)

Open IdeaThreader Pro Settings
Navigate to Settings → Danger Zone

Disconnect Social Media Accounts
Go to Social Connections → Click "Disconnect" for each connected platform
This revokes OAuth access immediately

Delete Client Profiles
Go to Clients & Knowledge → Select each client → Click "Delete"
Or use "Clear All Data" button to remove everything at once

Clear Browser Data
Settings → Clear Browser Storage → Confirm
Method 2: Email Deletion Request (Complete)
For a complete deletion of all data including server-side records:

Include Required Information
• Email address or username associated with your account
• Connected social media usernames (Twitter, Threads, Bluesky)
• Confirmation statement: "I request deletion of all my IdeaThreader Pro data"

Receive Confirmation
You will receive email confirmation within 48 hours

Data Deletion Timeline
• Immediate: OAuth tokens revoked, account access disabled
• Within 7 days: All user data deleted from active systems
• Within 30 days: All backups and logs purged
• Final confirmation email sent when complete
What Happens When You Delete Your Data?
Immediate Effects
- Your IdeaThreader Pro account is deactivated
- Social media OAuth connections are revoked
- You can no longer access the application with your credentials
Within 7 Days
- All client profiles permanently deleted
- All drafts and scheduled content removed
- User preferences and settings erased
- OAuth tokens and session data purged
Within 30 Days
- All backups containing your data deleted
- Analytics records anonymized or removed
- System logs purged
⚠️ Important Notes:
- Data deletion is permanent and irreversible
- You will need to create a new account to use IdeaThreader Pro again
- Content already posted to social media platforms is not affected (managed by those platforms)
- AI provider logs are managed according to their retention policies
Data Not Deleted
The following data is NOT deleted and remains under third-party control:
- Social Media Posts: Content you published to Twitter, Threads, or Bluesky remains on those platforms. You must delete posts directly through each platform.
- Third-Party AI Logs: Prompts sent to Google Gemini, OpenAI, or Anthropic are subject to their retention policies. They typically retain logs for 30-90 days for abuse monitoring.
- Legal Records: If required by law, we may retain minimal records (email address, deletion request date) for legal compliance.
Social Media Platform Data Deletion
To delete data from connected social media platforms:
Twitter/X
Visit: Settings → Security and account access → Apps and sessions → Connected apps → Revoke IdeaThreader Pro
Meta (Threads)
Visit: Settings → Security → Apps and Websites → Remove IdeaThreader Pro
Or use Meta's data deletion tool: facebook.com/help/delete_account
Bluesky
Visit: Settings → App Passwords → Revoke IdeaThreader Pro access
